In order to choose the winners of the Certificate of Excellence, TripAdvisor uses a unique algorhythm which takes into consideration the quality, quantity and dates of the comments posted by travellers on TripAdvisor during the last 12 months, along with the longevity and popularity of the businesses found on the website. To obtain TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence, the scores given by travellers to a business must average 4 out of 5 and the business must be on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months.
